Dr. Montana Burns

Montana graduated with Honors from the University of Vermont in 2009 earning a Bachelor of Science in Bio-behavioral Psychology with a pre-medical concentration. She then graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2013 with a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, Colorado. In 2019, she completed her Doctorate in Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine through Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California. She has studied for thousands of hours with practitioners from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Japanese, Dr. Tan, and 5 Element backgrounds. Her specialties include women’s health, digestion, pain management, and sports medicine.
Montana has a grounded background in both Eastern and Western medicine. She was an independent researcher in college and is a published author in the field of behavioral neuroscience. She managed a private women’s health practice in Boulder, Colorado, and worked as a surgeon’s clinical assistant in the General Surgery department at UVM Medical Center before entering the field of Eastern Medicine.
She is skilled in Chinese herbal medicine, Eastern dietary therapy, and acupuncture. Montana is nationally board-certified under the NCCAOM, is certified in Clean Needle Technique from the CCAOM, and is fully licensed in the state of Vermont. Additionally, Montana has fulfilled every requirement in her graduate education for the states of California, Washington, and Vermont. These states possess the highest educational standards for acupuncturists in the US.
